Gilmore Associates in Los Angeles developed the former Archdiocese cathedral in Los Angeles. It now is an amazing venue for events.

...who's to say that the First Baptist church can't saved, and become an amazing space!

Thanx for another relevant and needed article Tom. We have lost too many beautiful old churches and buildings to the developer's bulldozer in recent years. We already have enough empty holes in the ground from ridiculous, unrealistic, and senseless construction projects that were supposed to "improve" Lexington. I can think of one on the corner of Woodland and Maxwell that was torn down to build an unfinished, decaying condo development....karma perhaps?

I was so happy to see that you were writing about this. I started asking people about it back when the Centre Pointe debacle was first happening and no one really seemed to know if anyone was looking out for it. Hopefully this will raise awareness and the building will soon be restored to its original glory. It's one of the most beautiful in town.
