It’s a dog’s life at CentrePointe these days
After the big storm Tuesday afternoon, I drove down Main Street to check on Lake Lexington. As I was waiting to turn left from Upper to Vine, I looked back at the CentrePointe site and saw Coleman Larkin and his dalmatian, Sal. I’ll leave any commentary to Sal.

seems to me, that this is a prime spot for a massive ecologically tricked-out retention basin. thanks Webb Bros, for this case study in urban hydrology!! i’m sure downstream (distillery district) water quality/quantity issues could be alleviated, however mildly. on a macro note, too bad Lexington storm sewer vs. the EPA is more about bigger pipes, rather than thousands of rain gardens & cisterns, streetside bioswales, pervious driveways/patios, etc. See Kansas City’s 10,000 rain garden program for more. or Prince George County, Maryland’s “Low Impact Development” manual (how to disconnect your city from storm sewer dependency, helping water quality and saving money in the long term).

A picture says a thousand words. Everyone now knows that Dudley Webb came back from Europe without his mysterious $250 Million. It is clear that Sal feels the same way about the Webb Brothers like most Lexington Citizens. Where is the grass?? Did the grass seed wash away???
