Bill Edwards, 63, and his wife, Carol, own and operate Chevy Chase Hardware, which recently became the last hardware store in Lexington amid home improvement retail giants Home Depot and Lowes, not to mention Walmart. Edwards bought the Chevy Chase location, which had been a hardware store since 1946, a dozen years ago. Previously, he had hardware stores on Richmond Road and Centre Parkway.
