This portrait of Confederate Gen. Benjamin Hardin Helm, by his daughter, the noted painter Katherine Helm, hangs in the front hall of Helm Place on Bowman Mill Road. Helm, who was Union President Abraham Lincoln’s brother-in-law, was killed during the Battle of Chickamauga in 1863.
