Noted Lexington architect John McMurtry designed Floral Hall as a fairgrounds exhibition building. Since it was completed in 1882, it also has served as a stable and as barracks for soldiers during World War I. The Stable of Memories Inc., a non-profit foundation that owns the landmark, is having an auction at 10 a.m. on Oct. 7 to raise money to continue restoration.
