Sayre School was founded in David Sayre’s Greek Revival mansion in 1854, which sits on a block in the middle of Second Street. Stephen Manella, the new head of school, said one of the things that attracted him to Sayre was the school’s involvement in the downtown community, which he hopes to increase.
